Completed in 2009, Holy Family Church has become the center of family life and worship for the families of Rudrasamudram. Altogether there are 280 Catholic families supported by Holy Family Church and the 8 other mission stations 15 to 25 kilometers away. To visit the remote mission stations, Fr. Kumar travels by motorcycle over badly maintained dirt roads. There is no public means of transportation to these remote areas. For special feast days and celebrations, the church truck is sent out to the mission stations to pick up the families and bring them to Holy Family Church. The mission stations have only a small chapel for worship and several are badly in need of repair.
